Mike Vallely is a legend in the skate world. He is an ambassador for the sport, a pro hockey player, a rock star, and a great dad. We have spent allot of time getting to know him this year and I can tell you his passion for his sport and encouraging kids to progress is second to none. Freshpark, The Ultimate Name In Portable Obstacles, and Mike V. have teamed up and put out what is simply the best home grind rail kit for Skate, Snow, Bike and more at a price point less than half of any other option out there. We reviewed the Mike V. Ultimate Grind Kit with the head of the Big Bear Snowboard Camp, Sean Moughan, providing the images.

The Kit can be set up in infinite layouts and combinations (a few are listed below), and is constructed of cold rolled steel, powder coated in high gloss red for great visibility. The bar is flat and 4″ wide for solid connection. Each of the configurations is as fun as the next. Our favorite set up was the Rainbow Rail. It spans 12′ in length and only took 5 minutes to change from an incline bar set up to ridable rainbow. It is totally stable on the street, and pretty solid on the snow. To increase its stability on snow, Freshpark knew we would use it for snow, so they designed holes in the two supplied feet so that it can easily be bolted down to a 2×4 or support flat board to keep it from sinking into soft snow. As with any rail on the hill or the street, some light base scratches are expected, however the seams on this kit are as tight as we have ever seen.

We can’t say enough about how great this kit is. Use it for back yard home jib sessions when its snowing, then use it all summer as a skate set up. It is light weight so even the smallest Grom can pick it up and configure it. The kit will also connect to all of the other Freshpark ramps as well as the Freshpark designed Element Drop Spot Items and the new Freshpark designed DarkStar/Dwindle obstacles. Everything they design is solid as a rock with connectability like a lego set to be configured in as many ways as you can dream up. Freshpark has the portability market cornered and the rail can be taken down and fit into a long snowboard bag or even a trunk as small car for easy transport.

Caleb Bonneville 9 and smashing it…

Posted by Matt PIercey

Caleb Bonneville – 9 years old.
D.O.B. 2-20-2002

We have been watching Caleb progress over the past two years and the kid is amazing. Caleb came one spot from makeing the Xgames. He has qualified for nationals 2012 in the rail jam and this weeekend he has two slopestyle events. If he wins both he makes nationals in slope as well. Caleb is pushing his limits and trying new things. For how firm the snow has been, it has been a very productive year.

Bio Questions I straight up borrowed from www.flow.com ( we love the support they are giving him)

What is your idea of a good time?
Snowboarding in powder

What would you do if I gave you $20 grand cash right now?
